Extraordinary Coffee & Delicious Decaf!

I am thrilled to be cupping The Retro Mandhelling "classico" from Sumatra. I can honestly say this is the most extreme Sumatra bean I have ever roasted! For our lighter, clean Indonesian we found a small stash of Papaua New Guinea Peaberry. Ton's of earth, just a bit more subtle... Kenya Peaberry is back, well known for it's intense thick sweet syrup. Latin American coffee is still in the hight of season, with offerings from Casa Ruiz, (Panama) and Monte Crisol (Costa Rica) new this month. A very unusual coffee for us just arrived, a Certified Organic Brazil from Fazenda Jacaranda. Anyone who remembers how creamy and smooth the Brazil can be will be amazed at the soft creamy complexity of this unique coffee.

New Coffee Availability List:

Sumatra Retro Mandheling "Classico"
Received 7/23/2007
A new and exciting Mandheling with the famous dark blue green bean. This coffee has earned it's name - "Classico"! This is a super traditional Sumatra, surprisingly strong, with an unbelievably thick aroma. This coffee is grown in sweet black volcanic earth, producing a strong syrupy cup that amazes me with it's powerful, unmistakable body.
Now available in DECAF!

Kenya Peaberry "Ruiru"
Received 7/23/2007
Thick, sweet African syrup. A small round bean, the Peaberry may be considered the most unusual coffee for it's shape as well as the touch of extra spice you will notice in your cup. Our first spectacular Kenya of 2007 has smooth thick body with a dark caramel, malted sugar "blackstrap Molasses" finish.

Papua New Guinea Peaberry
Received 7/23/2007
Our first taste of this years New Guinea, we have received another great peaberry! Nutty flavors of dark roasted walnut blend with sweet earth - an intriguing, hearty Indonesian coffee. You will find this coffee has tons of body with a touch of sweetness, heavy but clean and smooth.

Panama Boquete "Casa Ruiz"
Received 7/23/2007
Don't miss this wonderful coffee! Casa Ruiz Estate has produced a smooth, round, full bodied coffee with a medium finish that is the perfect example of a classic Central American coffee. Slightly dry, with an unmistakable essence of bittersweet chocolate and a smooth finish, this coffee is much less "forward" and snappy then the Guatemalan coffees. You will find this Latin American coffee extremely clean, smooth and refreshingly simple.

Costa Rican "Monte Crisol"
Received 7/23/2007
Coffee grown in the northern and eastern high-altitude plantations of the Talamanca mountains.
Monte Crisol is a beautiful sharp and spicy bean with a sweet spritz of caramel flavor. A great example of the "Costa Rican Snap" - very forward with flavor and clean on the finish.

Brazilian Fazenda Jacaranda
Certified Organic
Received 7/23/2007
A new and Organically grown Brazilian, this is a sweet, soft mild cup of earthy black velvet. Brazilian coffee is a component of espresso blends that makes an outstanding coffee in it's own right. With my first taste of this coffee I noted the softness of the cup, very different from Brazil roasted in past years. Brazilian coffee is hard-core, heavy duty stuff. This year is no exception, the syrup is so thick it's like drinking black oil from my espresso machine.

Guatemalan Huehuetenango "Palhu"
Received 7/23/2007
Ask me for the most popular coffee each year and I'll be sure and recommend coffee from Huehuetanango. Pronounced "Way-Way Ta-Nan-Go", this is the highest mountain range in Guatemala. Our "Palhu" is an exceptionally complex, spicy Latin American bean. All the complexity of flavors found only in the highest grown Central American coffee, yet amazingly clean and subtle. When asked to recommend our most popular coffee, Guatemalan is always number one on my list.

New Water Process Decaf:

Red Sea Blend Water Process Decaf
Received 7/23/2007 Extremely limited supply
Blended by our importers at Royal coffee, this is an extremely sweet, fruity sharp African blend. Wine-like Ethiopian Harar, Mocha Yemen Sinani and Ethiopian Yergacheffe are combined in equal parts to create this coffee. Distinct with the smell of ripe, wild coffee fruit. Sweet sharp high notes and a complex robust cup. After blending, our coffee is fully decaffeinated using the Mountain Water Process.

Sumatra Natural Decaf
Received 7/23/2007
A traditionally dried, musky Sumatra, water processing "cleans up" the cup to deliver a unique Indonesian coffee that is shocking, heavy and unmistakably Indonesian in it's earthy body. Trying this new coffee is an absolute must for the discriminating Decaf Aficionado.

El Salvador Pulp Natural Decaf
Received 7/23/2007
We have received a small quantity of the incredible El Salvador Pulp Natural coffee, water processed in Veracruz Mexico. A stunning example of our new Royal Select Decaf program, we now serve this Salvador Pulp Natural coffee as regular coffee and decaf simultaneously.

El Colombian Water Process Decaf
Received 7/23/2007
A perfect Colombian Decaf coffee with a buttery, caramel essence. Almond highlights with a roasted nuttiness. This Colombian is a fine example of an outstanding medium bodied coffee, indistinguishable from the original Colombian coffee used in the mountain Water Decaf process.
