New Coffee Availability List:

Kenya Karakuta Peaberry
Received 11/26/2007
The Peaberry may be considered the most unusual coffee for it's shape. This equatorial bean, grown in Central Kenya, has a smooth flavor of bittersweet chocolate and a malted syrup finish. It has hints of anise, topped with a hot buttered rum bouquet. A nice, thick, sweet satisfying African syrup.

Organic Washed Sidamo
Received 11/26/2007
Washed African coffees are creamy and uniform, having been sorted and graded using water baths, in a style called European Prep. We are roasting the finest Ethiopian coffee we received this year. The Sidamo is a full bodied African with hints of black walnut, pear, and the classic grapefruit citrus finish. Finding a coffee of this quality was an unexpected stroke of good luck. Having it available for the Holidays was just patience and good planning!

Indian Mysore Nuggets
Received 11/26/2007
Coffee from India? Unheard of! We were skeptical, but after our first sip, We knew this coffee would be one of our surprise favorites of the year! This Indian coffee roasts up super rich, with a deep earthy sweet black baking chocolate taste. There's the unmistakable hint of hot leather saddles and the spice of Muscat raisins. I was shocked by my first cup, and I thought I had tasted everything! The name alone makes it a great gift this season, But this unexpectedly unique coffee isn't a cheap gimmick, Its the real thing! Enjoy!

Guatemalan Huehuetanango "Palhu"
Received 11/26/2007
The wait is over! Guat is Back! Ask me what the most popular coffee of the year was and I can tell you in one word. "Huehuetanango". (Pronounced "Way-Way-Ta-Nan-Go"), This Central American coffee is grown in the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes, the highest range in Guatemala. This "Palhu" is an exceptionally complex, spicy Latin American Bean. Yet amazingly clean and subtle. It was all we could do to wait until Christmas. Truly, this coffee is worth the wait!
Now available in DECAF!

Bolivian Peaberry FT Organic Cenaproc Co-Op
Received 11/26/2007
Next on my list of favorites, a delightful Bolivian Peaberry. This is the very last allotment of this South American heavy hitter! Less than 100 lbs! This is your last chance to enjoy this unusual Bolivian before it's gone. Rich highland soils have produced a solid, earthy coffee with sharp a distinctive licorice cup. Expect a long thick syrup finish and a shockingly spicy bite. A truly heavy coffee in such a tiny peaberry!

Peruvian Norte, Pronatur Co-Op
Fair Trade, Organic, Songbird

Received 11/26/2007
A classic Peruvian Fair Trade Organic coffee from the Pronatur Co-Op. This is a smooth, soft, medium bodied bean with the subtle essence of dark chocolate, roasted from exotic cacao. This is a clean and mellow coffee, simple and satisfying. We are very pleased to have this South American Coffee back in the Roasting Room!

Colombian Popayan Especial Cenaproc
Received 11/26/2007
Rising from the Pacific lowlands across the Andean Cordillea Occidental, The Valle del Cauca region brings us this exceptional coffee. This varietal is like no other that I have tasted from Colombia. With characteristics unlike traditional Colombian Coffees, The Popayan Especial is an expressive powerful cup! Strong tones of pecan and cured tobacco, that give way to a rich smooth finish. I was so amazed by this coffee I ordered the last 770 kilos for the Holidays!

Panama Las Victoria
Received 11/26/2007
A smooth, round, full bodied coffee with a medium finish that is the perfect example of a classic Central American coffee. Slightly dry, with an unmistakable essence of bittersweet chocolate and a smooth finish, this coffee is very similar to the Casa Ruiz we had this summer. You will find this Panamanian coffee extremely clean, smooth and refreshingly simple.

Sumatra Mandheling Grade 1
Received 11/26/2007
In traditional Sumatra fashion, this is another strong Mandheling from Indonesia, with an unbelievably thick aroma. This coffee is grown in sweet black volcanic earth, producing a strong syrupy cup that amazes with each sip. A powerful, unmistakable earthy bean.

New Decaf Coffee:

Papua New Guinea Decaf
Received 11/26/2007
From the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, grown in the Wahgi River Valley. This Kimel offers a taste of caramel, cream, and rounded out with an undertone of a cappuccino flan flavor - an intriguing, hearty Indonesian Peaberry. You will find this coffee has tons of body with a touch of sweetness, heavy but finishes clean and smooth.

Guatemalan Decaf Huehuetanango
Received 11/26/2007
Our Guatemalan Huehuetanango Water Processed Decaf is produced from the same Guatemalan coffee we normally roast here in the shop. True to it's origin, this is an intensely complex coffee, while still medium in body. I honestly could not tell my first roast of this Decaf apart from it's caffeinated counterpart. Simply stunning quality!
