THIS WEEKS NEW COFFEE Received 8/17/2006

Organic Central American coffee:

Mexican High Grown Chiapas Peaberry
Full 16oz Pound
$12.00
Grower Certified Organic, Fair Trade
Received 8/17/2006
High altitude Peaberries from Chiapas! Extra brightness and sharp sweet earthy body. This is the lightest and cleanest coffee in the shop this month. Very snappy with a clean light citrus finish. A beautiful and rare Peaberry!

Guatemalan Huehuetanango Asobagri
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Grower Certified Organic, Fair Trade
Received 8/17/2006
Grown with excellent dark cherry flavors, dark bittersweet chocolate and a touch of smoke. This is height of season for Guatemalan Huehuetanango, and we have this years heaviest, most complex cup. This is a thick, rich full bodied Central American coffee.

Peruvian Norte Pronatur Co-op
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Grower Certified Organic, Songbird
Received 8/17/2006
First of the season, Peru Norte from the Pronatur Co-op is a sweet high altitude Peruvian - very sharp and bright. Medium body, always clean and never bitter, Peruvian Norte makes a perfect gift, or an introduction into the world of exotic specialty beans.

Organic African coffee:

Ethiopian Washed Yirgacheffe
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Grower Certified Organic, Fair Trade
Received 8/17/2006
Almost buttery, African coffee with a distinctive sweet and creamy Washed "European Prep". Light notes of peach/apricot/blueberry mix with bergamot notes. I love this coffee for it's consistent smooth cup.

Kenya Peaberry
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Received 8/17/2006
Thick, sweet African syrup. A small round bean, the Peaberry may be considered the most unusual coffee for it's shape as well as the touch of extra spice you will notice in your cup. Our latest Kenya has a Lemony body with a dark caramel, malted sugar "blackstrap Molasses" finish.

Organic Natural Sidamo
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Grower Certified Organic
Received 8/17/2006
Our second Natural Sidamo for this year. Distinct blueberry fruit highlights and sharp wild floral notes. I LOVE natural coffees. Natural coffees are un-washed and often un-screened, "wild" hand picked cherries, sun dried and lightly sorted. This coffee ROCKS!

Organic Indonesian coffee:

Sumatra Blue Mandheling
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Grower Certified Organic, Fair Trade
Received 8/17/2006
A great Sumatra need not be dark roasted to create an intense cup! This month's Sumatra thrills me with it's shocking snap of black earth and clean crisp finish. Earthy without muddiness, strong, sweet and sharp. I'm always looking for the extraordinary cup, and I'm very hard to please when cupping Sumatra. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of this coffee, truly an extraordinary experience.

Flores Bajawa
Full 16oz Pound $12.00
Received 8/17/2006
Flores is part of the Indonesian archipelago, located between Java and Timor. The coffee is sweet, full bodied and Java-like. This coffee produces a black cup of sweet liquorice, very clean and thick and syrupy. I was informed this was an extremely rare opportunity, almost certainly a "one time buy" of this exotic rare coffee.

Have a wonderful summer everyone! Be sure and get out and enjoy the best summer has to offer before the fall season sets in. It will be "back to school" in the blink of an eye!
