Join the Roasters Dozen Club now!

Last month's Ethiopian Harar was stellar, a real springtime event. This month I am pleased to announce an exciting new twist to our African coffees: If you are in love with the sweet wild fruit of sun-dried Harar, take note: The Red Sea Blend was recommended by my importer as an even more remarkable cup. How could I resist?

THIS WEEKS NEW COFFEES Received 4/07/2006
Red Sea Blend Received 4/07/2006
Blended by our Importers at Royal coffee, this is an extremely sweet, fruity sharp African blend. Wine-like Ethiopian Harar, Mocha Yemen Sinani and Ethiopian Yergacheffe are combined in equal parts to create this coffee. Highly Recommended!
Mexican High Grown Chiapas Received 4/07/2006
Here's a Mexican coffee so light, so sweet, so fine. It's as if I'm sampling the finest Darjeeling tea. I'm truly at a loss for words with this one. There's a hint of spice, without earthiness, a wonderful cup of light goodness!
Peruvian Cajamarca Estate - Grower Certified Organic Delivered 4/07/2006
A slightly stronger delivery, medium in both body and roast with a bit more bite. Peruvian coffees are the smoothest, "easy drinking" specialty coffees, well known and loved for consistent smooth body and fruity highlights.
Sumatra Blue Mandheling - Grower Certified Organic Received 4/07/2006
A wonderful Sumatra, I taste a very satisfying balance between the earthy Sumatra coffee and the classic process of drying. This has created a coffee which is satisfyingly earthy and full bodied, while well rounded, this offering is less sweet, more heavily "musk".
Brazil Santos Mogiana Received 4/07/2006
Looking for a smooth coffee with a velvety finish? I have several customers who ask for Brazilian coffee in every order. While this coffee is used primarily in blending and lends it's smoothness to espresso, there's no denying that the unique character of Brazilian coffees are found in no other bean...
Timor Peaberry - Grower Certified Organic Received 4/07/2006
Clean modern Indonesian coffee, this spicy little pea has the distinctly smokey flavor with a subtle hint of Vanilla beans. This is a very unusual and exciting new coffee in the shop!
Papua New Guinea Kimel X Received 4/07/2006
Of the three Indonesian beans in the shop, you will find the Kimel sweet, black, simple and shockingly Indonesian. A wonderful bright yet earthy coffee with no bitterness.
Kenya Peaberry Received 4/07/2006
Another fine Kenya, subtle syrup feel and caramel finish. Very bright and light, a refreshing smooth cup reminiscent of a great Costa Rican. Beautifully clean and snappy!

We had run short of the Ethiopian Water Processed Decaf (actually a fine Harar) for several days this past week, and have received the new 2006 crop. It's interesting to note my decaf drinkers are split 50/50 between those who insist our Gold Standard for decafs still holds the 1st place, and folks who prefer the change of pace we offer, the African Tanzania Peaberry Decaf. (also a chemical free water processed decaf) You can once again take your pick any day of the week.
Please keep in mind that we have been roasting an amazing amount of coffee this year, and the coffees you see in this list will be out of stock in three weeks or less. It's always first come first served until the sacks are empty once again!
